OUR STORIES

Women across the globe have played a remarkable role in rewriting history, standing up for women’s rights and social reforms. For instance, Rosa parks, a significant figure in the American civil rights movement, along with Sylvia Pankhurts, leader of the British suffragette movement, made great sacrifices to ensure a better future and herstory for all women. Bertha Lutz, a prominent feminist from Brazil, alongside Soong Ching-Ling of China, spearheaded efforts to secure women’s right to vote and better their social status, respectively. Moreover, Mexican women’s liberation and eternal rural reform in Mexico would have never been accomplished without the unwavering efforts of Elvia Carrillo Puerto.

Clara Zetkin, a German-born educator, activist, and advocate for women’s rights led the charge for global recognition of women’s rights on March 8, which is now ingrained in history. Alongside, Marie Curie became a role model for strong women across Europe through her achievements in the field of science. Similarly, María Lejárraga fought for social change through her writings in Spain, Ichikawa Fusae campaigned fiercely for women’s suffrage in Japan, and Alexandra Kollontai of Russia was on a mission to achieve social justice and welfare for all women through her writings and advocacy.
