About Cooking

The reason I chose to create this work stems from two deeply personal passions: cooking and my concern for women's rights. My love for cooking began with my grandmother. She was the heart of our family, and her dishes always carried a sense of love, culture, and tradition. After I came to the US, I found myself missing not only her presence but the way her food brought people together. Cooking became my way of feeling close to her again, a way to honor her memory and make myself have home feeling.

Woman Right

At the same time, I have always been passionate about women’s empowerment. Growing up, I admired strong women throughout history who, like my grandmother, made significant contributions to their communities and cultures, often in humble or overlooked ways.

My project combines these elements, showing that even something as everyday as cooking can be a powerful symbol of strength and legacy. By exploring women’s history through recipes, I hope to inspire others to see the profound impact women have had—and continue to have—on our world.
